Surprisingly charming adaptation that isn't ruined by the vocal casting of Jim Carrey or Steve Carrell (no offense to their talent, but their cultivated schticks don't belong in a Dr. Seuss tale; luckily, unlike Carrey's unbelievable "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", both stars service the script rather than vice versa), and one of the first films I've seen where it's really more of a young children's product than one for adults or even "both", yet isn't any less valuable for that reason
