Among Hitchcock's best films (well in my opinion at least). The one shot technique is great in this film and you can really see that Hitchcock's "pure cinema" is wonderful as well.
Jimmy Stewart is great.

Is it just me or do all Hitchcock movies seem ancient?

Another classic of storytelling and filmmaking from Alfred Hitchcock. In this one, two friends set about committing and concealing a cold, heartless murder just to see if they can get away with it. The title of the film is also the murder weapon, and also a prop that plays a major role in the rest of the film. It was also Hitchcock's first film in color, beginning in a great way a third chapter in a great career (the first being silent film, the next being black and white). The two men kill one of their college buddies, then hide his body in an antique chest. Then, to top it off, they invite others over and parade them around the crime scene, they being completely ignorant of the situation. Just weird enough to be really, really creepy. Also, another good example (with High Noon) of real-time in film. The film tells a story of a period of time exactly as long as the film lasts. Very, very cool.
