The Great Performances!

They are not in any sort of order but each stands out in there own unique way....

Edward Norton(American History X).....
If there was an award to give to the best young actor in the biz than it would go to Ed Norton. His performance is so controlling and gripping that he really carries the picture. Bulking up 35 pounds for the role and is Deniro like in his characterisations. Brillant!

Russell Crowe(The Insider).....
Crowe is a character actor and he plays Jeff Wigand better than Wigand himself. His actions, movement and appearance are all beliveable and show's Crowe's amazing ablity to do many different roles.

Dustin Hoffman(Straw Dogs).....
How could paly a better geek than Dustin Hoffman. Nobody. Hoffman's performance is brillantly realized. This is definitly his best screen performance.

Al Pacino(Scarface).....
A tour de force for Pacino. Even for a small man like Pacino he seems larger than life. Not many actors could have pulled off a performance like this except for Al himself of course.

Robert Deniro(Raging Bull).....
Not many actors have put in better performances than this one. Deniro's portrayl of boxer Jake Lamotta is so raw, edgy and real it is scary. Surely one of the best.

Anthony Hopkins(The Silence of the Lambs).....
One of the most frightning performances of all time. So well done that I don't think that anyone could have played Hannibal Lector other than Hopkins. He is a marvel.

Jack Nicholson(One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest)..
Nicholson greatest role. I loved he character and Jack is that reason. He is so strong in the part that we begin to love the movie because of his character.

Jim Carrey(Man on the Moon).....
The best comedy/drama performance I have ever seen. Carrey is dead on as Kauffman. Definetly his best!

Jodie Foster(The Accused).....
Blistering and brillant performance. She does so well in the disturbing scences and really shows how talented an actress she is.

Juliette Lewis(Cape Fear).....
I love this performance by Lewis as a nieve daughter. Really a true performance that was worth an oscar.

Robert DeNiro(Taxi Driver).....
Deniro's most down played performance. It is so real and amazing and is alot of the reason that Taxi Driver is my favorite movie.

Al Pacino(Serpico).....
I love the Serpico character because of his integrity and attitude towards everything he incounters in the film. Pacino plays him with power and understanding.

Kevin Spacey(American Beauty).....
He has such originality and amzing ability to do something different evertime he acts. Spacey is only reason I liked the movie.
