Another perfectly modulated Rohmeresque story from Hong Sang-Soo. I can't for the life of me figure out why he's not more popular in the U.S. (this is only his second film the get a theatrical release here, and it's not like his films are forbidding endurance tests). It's droll, and the ideas spring forth from the behavior of the characters as much as their dialogue. Even the little bit (I'd hesitate to give 'subplot' status) with the dog ties in nicely with the theme, without being overbearing.
