I still prefer the underseen MirrorMask, but this is a reasonably good Neil Gaiman adaption, given the goth chic treatment by Henry Selick. It's just weird enough not to be boring for adults.

A sorta-flimsy story lent great whimsy and depth by its visual sense, wonderfully sumptuous and thoroughly realized by "Nightmare Before Christmas" helmer Henry Selick. If it's not as brilliant as Selick's groundbreaking flagship project, it's because that's a too-tall order (and isn't a musical). Not as full as I'd hoped, but beautiful to watch.
