Hey jeff_v! Haven't seen you around here in forever! It always heartens me when somebody shows up again after years. Like I'm not the only person who remembers this place and the era we spent active on it. I still consider this my archive. I refer back to it fairly often when I can't remember what I thought about a movie. Anyway jeff just wanted to say I found you on Letterboxd a while ago but notice that you never write anything there, and only rarely even log/rate. Interestingly you chose to come back here to post a couple of these write-ups instead of doing it there. Totally fine by me, whatever helps keep OOFnet alive, but I'm curious why you chose this site over that one.
As for "White Noise", I don't think it worked. Nice try Baumbach, and I encourage artists to try things outside their comfort zones but in your case I suggest sticking to what you're good at (bittersweetly observational life dramedies, like a less schticky Woody Allen). This one just escaped your grasp. Good LCD Soundsystem music video at the end, though.
