Very funny. Kevin Spacey and Judy Davis play one of the best bickering couples on film. And watching Dennis Leary try to keep the peace in their life and his butt away from the police is hysterical. If you haven't seen it, you've got to rent it for the Christmas dinner scene alone.

I watched this again over Christmas, and enojoyed it even more than the first time. Kevin Spacey has such great range as an actor; in this role he is much less intense than usual and does a great job.

The plot's nothing to crow about, but "The Ref" sports wonderful lead performances from Denis Leary, Judy Davis, and Kevin Spacey. Moreover, it's gut-bustingly funny, so take that. Best line: "You know what I'm gonna get you next Christmas? A big wooden cross so every time you feel unappreciated for your sacrifices, you can climb on up and nail yourself to it." Hah!
