The project is called Brainstorm. Christopher Walken is experimenting with recording memories and then playing them back by another person. But when his co-researcher (Louise Fletcher) suffers a fatal heart attack, and as she is dieing, she decides to record her own brainwaves. Christopher Walken becomes obsessed with playing back that tape, at the objections of the project leader.
This film is certainly worth renting.

Time hasn't been kind to this film unfortunately. This sci-fi flick about headphones that can record dreams and play them back on a tape has become a little dated. Still, an interesting concept and great role for Christopher Walken.
