With high expectations I went to see Flesh and Blood in an oldies matinee. High expectations because it's a Paul Verhoeven film, starring Rutger Hauer, one of my all time favorites. I was heavily disappointed: the film is set in the Dark Ages, but does not live up to it. The sets are ok, but the costumes and casting is no good. Hauer gives a crappy perfomance and Jennifer Jason Leigh is obviously not having any fun in it. The plot is very childish and the Paul Verhoeven-tounch can't be spotted anywhere in the whole movie.

yea that other reviewer is right on, stars rutger hauer and jennifer jason leigh again they were in the hitcher and another which escapes me.this had too many flaws ,and with rutger my expectations are so high.
