"Marci X" aims to savagely skewer censorship--- maybe, if it weren't so cartoonish, it would have succeeded. Though it has its funny moments, they don't emphasize the movie's strong points; they, instead, read as bright spots along a "clash of the tired stereotypes" road. And everyone gets it: white, black, gay, Jewish, Democrat, Republican, "Marci X" lines 'em up and shoots 'em down--- or, at least, TRIES to shoot 'em down. Overall, it's not strong satire, and it's not strong comedy, and Lisa Kudrow's two raps officially sap the life out of any humor ever derived from that age-old comic device, White Person Comically Apes Black Gangsta.
