Effective drama follows a Colombian girl as she delivers drugs to the United States and decides to stay as an illegal alien. Catalina Sandino Moreno is some kind of find as the titular heroine.
Side note: when I first saw the tall, good-looking lead actress paired with the short, chubby best friend, I had a "small world" moment, wondering at how this Hollywood convention had made its way into a Colombian film. Later, however, I learned that the movie was written and directed by an American, Joshua Marston.

One of those films that I can't really explain in terms of how much I loved it. It left me with an ineffable sensation. Just top quality filmmaking, I guess. And Catalina Sandino Moreno's truly is a screen debut for the ages, as some review aptly put it
