Not really as good as the first two, but a lot better than Resurrection, this movie is quite eerie.
It was a total step back and re-imagining of the series... and some aspects worked. Hicks and the little girl, Rebecca, being killed by an Alien that had somehow stowed onboard and waited 'til they were all asleep was kinda freaky. I also liked the new cat-like Alien and the scenes where we as the viewer got to see things through its eyes. That was cool.
I know this movie ticked some people off, but not me. I found it to be a bit scary, and some of the prisoner characters were cool. The ending was a bit lame, but hey, all-in-all it was a decent sci-fi/horror movie.

Well-done from a technical standpoint as David Fincher directed it. The main problem with this is the script which negates the ending of Aliens in one fell swoop. Fincher of course would go on to make great films (Se7en, Fight Club). But this is a disgrace to a great film series. The Alien movies should have ended at Aliens.

This is a different take on the franchise witht he exception that big alien still can't leave leave Ripley alone for some reason aside from the fact that Ripley is part of the alien family for some reason.
The technology is awesome in this flick yet Newt and Hicks died in the beginning of the flick. Unique cinematography overall and the director gave this flick a quasi dark/light touch overall. Watch "Aliens3" to see the differences of the additonal scenes and alternate endings. the music is also very dramatic and brilliantly done overall.

Dark, unforgiving, and fatalistic, with strong imagery and camera use by David Fincher and his team. To those who awaited this in the wake of "Aliens", it's instantly disconcerting to see how what little was preserved from that movie is destroyed. Charles S. Dutton, as a badass convict, has a memorable death (no spoiler there - everybody dies), but I wish that Charles Dance as the kindly doctor wasn't dispatched so early. It's rare, if not utterly non-existent, for Dance to play a good guy

A fine movie, with great production value. One of my favorites. Weever (or however you spell it) is back fighting E.T. for the let's count em, 1st, 2nd, 3rd time. Well, what can we say, a movie with an 80's babe, not now of course, and death. That's what I call a close encounter.

Pitiful, pathetic, poor! This movie was so filled with curse words, it was embarrassing. I'm so blinkety-blank sick of all the blankety-blink swearing in these movies. They can just take their bleeping bleep and bleep it.
