This to me was awesome! This movie gives you suspence and a couple twists and turns! It keeps you on the edge of your seat. Though the whole reason the "Arab" got sent to the northlands from the (quoet) "....most beautiful city in the world.." (unquoet) It left out a couple details there. But this movie is very good for the action people. If you like bloody battles and good story lines this is a GOOD movie for you. I enjoyed it a LOT.

Campy adventury film that bands Antonio Banderas together with some Northmen (Vikings) fighting the mysterious "Eaters of the Dead". This plot was adapted from Michael Crichton's book with impressive results. I remember going through a Crichton phase and reading everything that the author wrote but balked at this particular book cuz it was really sucking. The big screen adaptation, directed by John Mctiernan (of Die Hard fame), flowed incredibly well and made it accessible to boneheads like me.

A good solid adventure film. It doesn't promise anything that it can't deliver. Steeped in folk lore, it's a good movie for a brain dead afternoon when you just want to have some fun and not have to think too much.

Antonio Banderas starred in this flick. With his success as Zorro, I had moderate expectations here as well. Banderas plays an arab, but I kept stumbling over his spanish accent. I wondered if the producers felt that nobody would know the difference between an arab and spanish accent. The movie certainly had lots of action, but it lacked focus and I gradually lost my way as the film progressed.
In all honesty, I just could not recommend this movie.
