I don't care what anyone says: Hugh Grant is appealing. His nebbishy charmer routine works for me, and the guy stutters with the best of 'em. I may have never seen a more conventional movie than this one right here, especially considering the several additional crazy-labor climaxes we had to continue going through in later movies. The formula was creaky back in "Father of the Bride". Still, with Grant, Julianne Moore in a rarely sweet performance, the all-time champion word-fumbler Jeff Goldblum in a rare performance of his own as someone who doesn't stutter very often, an unusually cameo-ridden Robin Williams, and another underrated comedian, Tom Arnold (seriously, he was funny in "True Lies" and that lame horror spoof that was on USA last year), connecting the dots is less tiring than usual
