This is the story of Richie Valens, the Latin pop star of the 1950's, who, along with Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper, died in a plane crash in 1959. Lou Diamond Phillips does a great job playing Valens. The supporting cast (especially the guy who plays Richie's jealous brother) is also good.

This true story of Frankie Valens played by Lou Diamond Phillips is told in a gripping and enjoyable fashion right until the bitter end. Even if you're not a fan of the late 50's Rock and Roll (which I'm not), this movie is sure to move you.

This life story is unmoving and uninspiring. I'm sure Ritchie Valens was much more interesting than this representation.
