This movie has an interesting idea, but for the most part, it's a love story, and not an especially good one at that. To be fair though, this movie had one or two very funny scenes with Steve Martin as a psychotic dentist, but he gets killed off early on, so, in my opinion, watch the first half hour and then turn it off.

If you look at all of the movies I've given high ratings to, you'll notice that there's not many musicals in that list. The reason is I hate most musicals and almost ALL broadway plays. How anyone can pay $100 on up to see a bunch of unknown people talking and then constantly breaking into some ridiculous song and dance routine when you can pay $8.00 (sometimes $5.00 if you go during the day) and watch something far more interesting and less unbearable is beyond me.
Anyway I'm digressing - what I'm trying to say is that this is pretty good for a musical. Rick Moranis, the world's most notorious geek, is good as Seymour, the owner of the man-eating plant Audrey. Steve Martin is funny as the abusive dentist, and Bill Murray has an amusing bit part as a masochistic patient of Martin's.
