Dracula movies are almost always situated precariously between scary and absurd, and "Love at First Bite" is a comedy that only goes a little bit over the line to absurd, and that is it's streignth: It is almost a regular Dracula movie, and is that much better as a parody. The only problem spots in this movie are the times when it veers into traditional romantic comedy ground. George Hamilton is perfect as Dracula. Richard Benjamin is perfect as Van Helsing, bringing the role all of the cheesy dignity that the role requires, and adding in a bit of silliness just for fun. Whoever plays Renfeild is funny too. The main problem is Susan St. James, because whenever she's around, the movie turns into a romantic comedy. But all in all, its a pretty funny movie.
