I struggled with my rating of Space Cowboys for several minutes between the 6.5 and 7.0. I finally figured that when you get that much talent together (Eastwood, Jones, Garner, Sutherland) you better give it the benefit of the doubt. It's a very entertaining story, kind of silly in parts (like the angry fight guy at the bar), and not too credible in parts (the whole deal about what the satellite actually is), but it's the first film that's kept me in suspense for quite a while. I mean to say, I wasn't quite sure if they were going to "rescue 'em all" or if they were going to tell the story the way they ended up telling it. All in all, I had a good time. Not really great classic cinema, but well worth the $3.50 I paid to see 4 great actors practice their craft.

Well what are you gonna do. A bunch of old guys in space when I dont like too see old people in really any movie. That means you Bruce Willis. Just Kidding. Back on to the subject. Bruce Willis is a fine actor but he has nothing to do with this movie. I only enjoyed the comedy. That was it. I was so bored with the movie that I can't even remember why they went into space. Oh well. This is more for 45 year old people.

Despite its goofy title and preposterous plot, "Space Cowboys" works as a sort of geriatric "Armageddon." To see Eastwood, Jones, Sutherland, and Garner bounce their lines off one another is loads of fun, and overshadows the ill logic behind the entire story. Overall an enjoyable, very watchable comedy.

This was a good film for us Senior Citizens since it shows us in a competent and valued light. The space cowboys are old airmen who have assumed a new and dangerous mission as the world watches. Eastwood, Garner, Jones, Sutherland still look good to me. But the movie itself is just so so.

What a kick. The interaction between these four "cowboys" made this absolutely worth watching. It was definitely one of those "feel-good" movies, with some admittedly implausible and cliched scenes, but as long as you can suspend a little of your disbelief you'll enjoy yourself. My one question though is about the very last shot of the movie. Necessary? Morbid? Don't know. Something to think about.

The star studded cast of Eastwood, Sutherland, and TL Jones helps this average science fiction movie that might otherwise be a dud. There are a few funny lines from the squinty eyed star but the plot is preposterous for the most part and there really isn't anything we haven't seen before either. Credit should be given however, to the opening scene where the recognizable voices of the cast are dubbed onto other people who play them when they were younger.
