This movie is dramatically tense and comically pleasant. A good one to watch when you're feeling introspective. I liked it a lot more when I first saw it, I don't quite know why; it could be Robin Williams.

Stupendously bad. I lay the blame largely at the feet of John Irving, whose novel must be atrocious. There is so much cute irony, forced rhyming and dishonesty that I wanted to hurl. How can the filmmakers possibly expect anyone to be moved when the universe is so clearly "cleverly" rigged? John Lithgow is the only good thing in this miserable film.

Bizarre. An obvious observation? Yes, but I thought I should engage in some banal normality after viewing this twisted movie. Extremely sad, but strange to the point that you almost doubt what's going on. It borders on being a confusing muddled piece of crap
