Michael Douglas stars in this suspenseful thriller about a husband trying to set up his wife's murder. It has similarities to other films Douglas has done previously but it still makes for a worthwhile watch.

One of my favorite Michael Douglas flicks. Good suspense keeps u guessing ,and the dialogue attimes is very funny. Gwyneth Paltrow has had some bombs but was excellent here as the adulteress.

Director Andrew Davis' loose remake of "Dial M For Murder" may not be as immediate as that classic, but creates a wonderfully tense, paranoid atmosphere strong enough to make "A Perfect Murder" as good as it is. The performances, sadly, don't hold up-- only Michael Douglas as the vengeful cuckold truly excels, and Gwenyth Paltrow and Viggo Mortenson as the cheatin' hearts behind Douglas' rage barely pass muster. No matter. The silly plot twists are appealing, the suspense real, the script crackling despite Paltrow and Mortenson's clunky delivery. Maybe it's blasphemy to remake Hitchcock, but if more people could do it this well, it might not be so bad.

Well acted by Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow, but who are we supposed to root for in this movie? Paltrow, because her husband (Douglas) is trying to kill her? Well, she IS cheating on him. She had it coming. She is no less reprehensible a person than her husband in my opinion. This movie is morally destitute.

Instead of playing the jilted male Michael Douglas does a turn as the vengeful husband. Joined on screen with Gweneth Paltrow (who looks very yummy indeed) this movie wasn't all that but has those great suspensful "moments". Rent it or catch it on HBO as I did.
