Might have been better if anyone in the town had actually been a monster or ghost or something, anything. It all seems so lame by the end. Ed Begley Jr. and Jeff Goldblum are strong character actors and make the movie watchable (Geena Davis ain't so bad herself; ah, those were the days), but it's all too much talk given the wacky premise
