This movie is a fairly average comedy (in the type of humor, I mean. The plot itself is very not average [in a good way]). The only reason I give this so-so movie an 8.0 rating is because it contains one of the funniest scenes I have ever seen, and I will not ruin the surprise for people who have never seen it, but, suffice to say, it has to do with the Banana Boat Song.

I enjoyed this film due to Alec Baldwin's flannel. No actually I enjoyed the movie perticularly because I've seen it about oh 15 times in the last year. I enjoyed Michael Keaton who I loved in Batman. It could have been better in some ways which I'm not going to say right now. See it enjoy it if you haven't

I'm not sure I've ever seen this from beginning to end, but I have seen every scene about 20 times. The story can be enjoyed just as well in the pieces that you watch while you're flipping channels or waiting for something better.

Michael Keaton looks remarkably unrecognizable as Beetlejuice. Too bad the movie is pretty forgettable.

Funny, and hilarious!!!!Certain parts may be scary as they were for me when i first saw it as a kid!!!Michael Keaton was perfect as Beetlejuice as were Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin!!!Enjoyable, silly fare that your kids will eat up as will you!!!

Beetlejuice may very well have been the first movie I saw that succeeded in absorbing me in its world. That and my love for oddball stuff is probably what lead to me seeing it three times in the theater during its original run. Then I videotaped it whne it came to HBO. The VHS of it got lost long ago. Then I came across the DVD of it on sale at Wal-Mart recently for $5.00. Grabbed it.

Beetlejuice still works. For two reasons. One is Tim Burton's ability to create worlds and drop an audience into them. The other is Michael Keaton's performance in the title role. Its obvious Keaton improvised a lot of it. It wouldn't shock me if Burton simply said "go to it" to the actor and turned on his camera.

Burton's best work.

I love this movie. Who doesn't? I watched this when i was little and still love it. What a weird role for Michael Keaton. But then again, what a weird movie. Each role was cast perfectly, what a amazing world Tim Burton showed us. Shrunken Head man, the lost souls room, that lady who smoked and it came out her neck. Winona Ryder, she was perfect. I love to hate Delia, what is with those sculptures? Ridiculous. I loved watching their bodies deteriorate at the end of the film at the wedding thing. And of course the parts in the movie where everyone breaks out into song, the dinner table and the ending where Winona Ryder is singing with the dead football team. Great work Tim. How about a nice Zag-nut?

An irritating imitation of a comedy.

A visual feast. I first saw this a few months after it came out at the local dollar theater, and since I was only about fourteen years old, I didn't capture the subtle intelligence of Beetlejuice. I watched it again a few days ago and laughed out loud often, surprised at how really oddly cool this film is. My personal favorites in the film were Jeffrey Jones as the "wanting a good relax" husband and Michael Keaton (of course) in the title role. Everyone did a great job, but those were the two that I noticed most. I'm glad I "rediscovered" the "calypso possession" scene. Probably not for youngsters, but Beetlejuice has an odd, silly, twisted humor that you can't get anywhere else besides Tim Burton. VERY cool movie.
