Intense passion and some real heavy nudity. Not for all movie fans, but this is where Kim Basinger became a known sex symbol. If your single you dont know what you could be missing!
Warning dont watch with your parents they wont tell you about some things that go on!

This "racy" film is not very racy. It's one of those films that whatever it is you're looking for, you don't find it here. It is not a nice "lovey" movie to see with your spouse or boy/girlfriend, it's really got no story, and as I said above, it really isn't as explicit as everyone would say it is.

Strong characterization? Well written? Usually I pride myself in tolerance of conflicting movie criticism, but it's really painful to hear/read positive things about this movie. It's porn, which on its own terms ain't so bad, because at least porn acknowledges its identity as prurient entertainment. 9 1/2 Weeks pretends to be deeper, thanks to what? The always classy Mickey Rourke? Or Kim Basinger perhaps, who's made about 2 good movies in her entire 20 year career...and what do we learn during that 5 minute long sex scene on the stairs in the rain? Or in that tower? Or with that food? One of my least favorite movies ever
