Very campy, its stupidity and juvenile mentality are forgivable thanks to some adorable stop motion dinosaurs, a supremely wacky-looking, attention-seeking abominable snowman (played unrecognizably by Richard Moll!), a lighthearted tone that wisely veers more toward the spoof region than straight comedy, and a couple details that are just so strange they have to work, such as the fact that no one speaks English throughout the entire film (I thought the caveman-speak would last only a couple minutes...), and that the main character is Ringo Starr, who isn't half bad (nor half good)
Okay, my argument is weak. This movie is only for die-hard '80s-philes, although I maintain that it has a certain creative charm along the lines of, say, Chris Elliott's "Cabin Boy". If you could enjoy that movie, you might not hate this one
