Sometimes thoughtful, sometimes poignant, sometimes pretty funny, and sometimes quite irritating. I loved Henry Fonda in Twelve Angry Men so it was interesting and impressive to see Henry Fonda acting 24 years later in his last film. A story of an aging wife and her aging husband who begins to feel frustrated with the aging process. He finds a source of strength in his wife, and a source of unlikely friendship in a thirteen-year-old Billy Ray, his new grandson-in-law. He finds reconciliation with his daughter (and eventually himself) and begins to experience the quiet serenity of his later years. Not too much action (except one pretty scary boat crash), but On Golden Pond was generally well-acted and well-filmed. Quite good.
