Good-natured, fun-to-watch western starring Mel Gibson as a roguish Bret Maverick-- a role that James Garner (the other star of the film) played to perfection on Television in decades gone by. Also, you wouldn't normally think of Jodie Foster as a beautiful Southern Belle (especially lately) but she acts her part to near-perfection. We're not talking about Citizen Kane or Hamlet here, but it never fails to entertain with its card tricks and (literal) cliffhangers. Worth a look.
